Message from the President

It’s the goal of Ripley Machine to focus on continuously improving and developing new business avenues so that we are able to positively impact the lives of our employees (and their families), our customers and our community!

 I want to begin by thanking you for visiting our page and your interest in our company. I hope that you will take some time to look around and learn more about our company. I also encourage you to follow us on our various social media platforms.

To give you a little background on me, I started working here at Ripley Machine in the summer of 2010. During the post-recession period, summer jobs were hard to come by and my Grandpa Quent offered me a full-time job so it worked out well! After a long summer of emptying trash, cleaning, basic drill press operations, packing, etc., I didn't really have any interest to keep working in the shop. I completed my senior year of high school and graduated from Clymer Central in 2011. I went back to work in the shop that summer (again primarily because there were not a whole lot of other options) and I began to get more opportunities to see what machining and manufacturing were about. I started out running one of our CNC Lathes that had an indexing chuck. Being able to take a casting and make a valve body in one operation and then see it in operation really was a game changer for me. I began to fall in love with the business and had an eagerness to learn all that I could. In 2012, our Operation Manager retired, and my grandfather promoted me to the position. To be honest there was a lot of “baptism by fire” involved but as I began to settle in, I knew that this is what I wanted to for the rest of my life. In 2015, I took the plunge and purchased the company from my grandfather. Work suddenly became a lot more stressful. Thankfully my grandfather (and parents) had instilled a trust in God in me and that trust got me through the worst year in company history in 2016. Thankfully we bounced back in 2017 and we look forward to continued growth going forward. We would be honored to have you along for that growth.

I am blessed to be part of a company that has a core group of employees that has knowledge and experience to help achieve and exceed our company goals. The average experience per employee of Ripley Machine is 15 years. This longevity allows us to serve our customers in ways that other shops are unable to. Our employees are constantly coming to me with ways that we can improve our operations. We use these suggestions to improve our operations to better serve our customers. It’s a great joy to be part of this operation.

One of my favorite parts of the job is interacting with our customers. I visit most of our customers on a regular basis to help determine how we can better serve them. With the miles that often separate us this can be a time consuming and costly task however, the information gained during these visits will always make the trips worthwhile. I love face to face interactions with our customers because it often addresses issues and improvements that slip through the cracks of email and telephone interactions. I also love to see where our finished products end up as that just furthers my love for manufacturing. I also provide each of our customers with my personal cell phone number and encourage they call me any time to help address their issues! Ripley Machine is truly focused on satisfying our customers!
